Frequently Asked Questions

SCOP (Seasonal Coefficient of Performance) is a seasonal coefficient of performance that takes into account the entire heating period and characterizes the efficiency of a heat pump’s operation throughout the year. The higher the heat pump’s SCOP, the more efficiently the air source heat pump can produce heat from the energy consumed over the year.

For example, while electric radiators consume 1 kW of electrical energy to produce 1 kW of thermal energy, air source heat pumps are significantly more economical. For instance, the Mitsubishi Electric MSZ-AP25 is capable of producing an average of 4.7 kW of thermal energy for every kilowatt consumed (SCOP=4.7).

SEER indicates the seasonal cooling efficiency of an air conditioner. The higher the SEER, the more efficiently the air conditioner can produce cool air.

When choosing a heat pump, several factors need to be considered. However, as a rule of thumb, for a very well-insulated building, 1 kW of heating power is sufficient to heat approximately 20-25 m². For an average detached house, 1 kW of heating power is sufficient to heat about 15 m².

Thanks to their compact design, both air-to-air and air-to-water heat pumps can be installed in virtually any building, such as a residential house, summer cottage, garage, or apartment.
